Mandel Bread Recipe
First, let’s talk about the ingredients. You will need a cup of sugar, a cup of butter or oil, 3 eggs, 2 cups of flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, half a teaspoon of vanilla extract, and half a teaspoon of almond extract, and the same for orange juice and cinnamon.
If you want to, you can add some chocolate jimmies, some chocolate chips, or chopped walnuts.
The first thing to do is cream the oil and the sugar. After that, beat the eggs in one after the other and then introduce the remaining ingredients one at a time.
Secondly, line the baking sheet with some parchment paper, then cut the dough into two loaves. We recommend that the loaves are an inch high and 4 inches wide. You should then bake it for around 20 minutes then slice them into smaller pieces.
Finally, place the cut pieces on their sides and allow them to bake for around 7 minutes. After 7 minutes, turn them over and allow them to bake for 7 more. They will have become brown at this point. Serve them and enjoy!
For Kamish bread, the ingredients are almost the same. You will require a cup of sugar, three eggs, ¾ a cup of oil, a teaspoon of vanilla extract, 3 cups of flour, a pinch of salt, one and a half teaspoons of baking powder, and finally 12 ounces of cinnamon and sugar.
Here is how you prepare it.
Start by preheating the oven to around 350 degrees, then flour and grease the cookie sheets lightly. You should then mix the ingredients in a bowl with the help of a wooden spoon.
The next step involves shaping them into three strips with a height of around one inch and placing them on the cookie sheets. Sprinkle them with some sugar and cinnamon.
Finally, bake them for around 20 minutes and turn the oven off. Then cut them into pieces and put them back in the oven to form a crisp.
